As you know, I am a big fan of TED talks and when I saw this TED Talk (the video is embedded below) with AnnMarie Thomas  – the director of the UST Design laboratory at the University of St. Thomas – I couldn’t wait to share.

The idea is as simple as it is revolutionary – take everyday items (most of which you will have in your kitchen) and turn them into an interactive learning tool that even young children can use.

Play-Dough Squishy Circuits will be appearing in the Kids Summer Program at the local community arts centre, since I’m currently heading it up and because I think this is an awesome idea!

I am excited to be able to share a link to AnnMarie’s project page where you can find all the recipes and instructions to try out your own homemade Squishy Circuits. This is a project you can do with children of any age, depending on how much science you introduce, and can also be used over and over as your child grows to illustrate new concepts.
