I have a confession to make: I an one of those few children who did not grow up with Dr. Seuss’s work. I started reading at a young age, and by the time everyone I knew had gotten into Dr. Seuss I thought they were awfully childish and far too easy to read.
It wasn’t until I was an adult and I read a little deeper that these books finally made sense to me. It started in Grade12 when our class valedictorian read “Oh, The Places You’ll Go!” for his address, which really introduced me to my love for Dr. Seuss books. These creative, colorful, and silly childrens’ books have some very profound wisdom hidden in their pages and I would like to think that adults can also learn from and enjoy them. I have made a small list of my favorite lines from Dr. Seuss and his books, and I encourage you to check them out and read them with the kids in your life. Maybe you too will learn something new!
